Insulin suppositories may soon become a reality for millions of people diagnosed with diabetes

Oramed is using their patented technology to develop an insulin suppository for people diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Oramed’s insulin suppository would replace the necessary insulin typically delivered via injection for those who have Type 1 diabetes. This product will be particularly helpful for those whom an oral insulin capsule is not feasible such as small children.

Phase 1A clinical trials on healthy volunteers commenced in October 2008 in South Africa.
